Client
Newtownstewart McKinney scope was to Design & Build the conversion of an existing supermarket into a post office, sorting office, café, and funeral home involved reconfiguring the space to accommodate these new functions. This involved concept drawings, planning permissions and consultation with all stake holders such as Irish Water, Donegal County Council, Road Service, Environmental Health, An Post, ESB, eircom and Building Control.
For the post office, it included creating service counters, secure mail/money storage, sorting office and back-office areas with necessary IT infrastructure. The café required installation of a functional kitchen, storage, serving area, seating, welfare facilities and appropriate ventilation/fire systems. The funeral home required private consultation rooms, a chapel/memorial space, and serene waiting areas, designed with sensitivity and comfort in mind. The project also addressed updated lighting, signage, accessibility, and safety features to meet the requirements of all three distinct operations.
