Fort Halstead QinetiQ Enclave for Willmott Dixon Interiors. The project comprising the construction of a new reception building, creation of a new main site entrance, refurbishment of existing buildings including plant installation, creation of a new surface level car park and access, installation of two new explosive magazine stores and surrounding block walls, demolition of existing buildings, installation of 6no. storage containers, installation of new site utilities, the erection of perimeter security fence, landscaping and ecological works.
Working with Willmott Dixon Interiors Newtownstewart Mc Kinney carried out the construction of the new reception building, carparks with new link roads to existing road network in turn upgrading the HV/LV supplies on site in the construction of 5No. new substations to support the new electrical network required on site.
An existing storage facility was utilised to were Newtownstewart Mc Kinney fitted 2 No. Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP’s). These ASHPs replace the existing oil tanks and boiler that will no longer be required following the refurbishment of the building. We also installed multiple steel service gantries which were required to support the new ducts and cables from the ASHP’s to feed the new reception building a long with a variety of refurbished buildings dotted around the site, these gantries also feed onto above ground mounted tracking leaving all M&E services in the high security IDB area visible above ground as excavation in this area was not possible.
These works left the new and refurbished buildings fitted with latest systems in IT, HVAC and safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers to enhance operational efficiency, energy management, and security within the facility.
