Project Spires in Oxford, for Willmott Dixon Interiors. The project is a refurbishment and extension of an existing building to create a laboratory and offices.

Transform this uninspiring and redundant retail shed into exciting new space for a laboratory and offices to support the life science market in Oxford. Newtownstewart McKinney upgraded the building fabric, improved the landscaping and installed a cycle centre to create a more sustainable building for market leading life-science companies.

Working with Willmott Dixon Interiors Newtownstewart McKinney completed the internal architectural concrete works and the internal masonry fit out to office and welfare areas. We also completed the part demolition to the existing facade include the installation of new masonry finishes to match existing.

Scope included the installation of all interior finishes, fixtures, and systems necessary to create functional and aesthetically pleasing workspaces. This involves partitioning spaces, installing flooring, ceilings, and lighting, as well as fitting electrical, HVAC, and IT infrastructure. Office furniture, workstations, and meeting rooms, along with kitchen areas and restrooms. The fit-out also covers safety systems such as fire alarms and sprinklers and ensured compliance with accessibility and building regulations. The focus was on creating a productive, efficient, and comfortable working environment.
